Also, we have an exciting announcement. Now, due to the support of the yaoi community and the success of Issue 1, we're already there! All issues are now available in a beautiful 6x9" perfect bound format which, as a fan said, is made of awesome! :)

We hope you enjoy this new issue as much as everyone involved enjoyed creating it!

08:01 pm - CONTEST!!!

Well, as you all know, Sarah and London recently hauled ass through 14 states and are now safely back home and mostly sane.  Or, well, no worse for wear, anyway.  I'm afraid to ask for specific details...I know there's a story or two or a thousand waiting to be told.  ANYWAY...in honour of their little road trip, they have a fanworks contest going on.  YIPPEE!  Contest!  And where there's a contest, there's prizes...and prizes are always good, in my book.  *nods*  So...please click the cut and read what Sarah said about it on her blog...

Did I mention prizes?Collapse )

02:56 pm - Press Release for Yaoi Magazine debut!

YAOI MAGAZINE DEBUTS TRIUMPHANTLY!

Global fans stampede YaoiMagazine.com to order Vol. 1 Issue 1 of Yaoi Magazine!

York, Penn. - January 18, 2008 The first issue of Yaoi Magazine was made available for purchase on the YaoiMagazine.com website as well as on Amazon.com January 15, 2008. In the first day alone, sales exceeded S. A. Payne's (publisher) original expectation. "In just a few days orders have surpassed our original expectations by over 300%," said Payne. "We knew the market was out there, but I'm shocked to see how many orders are coming in, some for multiple copies! We've had orders placed from four countries outside of the U.S. as well."

The Yaoi Magazine website has had a recent upgrade as well and is now showcasing samples of the variety of items you can find inside the first issue. Yaoi Magazine has certainly realized its goal of packing a magazine full of boy-on-boy goodness. The magazine boasts four pieces of original fiction, two manga, a variety of articles and reviews, art, and a beautiful, full colored centerfold that can be detached for display. There are also a number of ads from prominent members of the global yaoi movement, truly showing this is a magazine for the yaoi community.

"We're already hard at work on the next issue of Yaoi Magazine, due for release April 2008," Payne informs. "We've already lined up a number of features for the second installment, but we are accepting submissions for more.”

It was noted that no updates had been received regarding the progress on issue one of Yaoi Magazine, which may have caused concern. In light of the recent withdraw of other English magazines that were to launch in the last year, Payne simply stated “We wanted to create a quality product, and in doing so our focus was on taking our time, doing everything right, and building up the fan base for Yaoi Magazine. We may have been a little low-key, but our goal from the start has been to complete issue one before accepting any purchase orders for the magazine. Now that we’re comfortable, we’ll be shifting some of our focus to create a swirl in the yaoi community, making sure everyone knows we’re here. We’ll be happy to begin accepting pre-orders for issue two in the coming weeks. At this time all purchases will be on an issue by issue basis, until we’re certain we can guarantee the product the global yaoi fan deserves if they’re buying a full year’s subscription. Orders can be made on the site at www.yaoimagazine.com.”

09:42 pm - Challenge!

I challenge you! Yes you right there.

Haiku challenge. A haiku consisted of a pattern of 5, 7, 5 sounds.

example:

Man sighs against neck,
makes the other man's knees tremble,
Lips are hot and slick.

This won't be published, it's just something fun for people to play around with.

11:16 am - Introductions

Well there's a distink lack of posting here, so I thought maybe we could open it up so that people who are a part of the community could introduce themselves a little. I thought of a few questions that we could answer to make things a little easier. :3  So read and respond..and then make your own post!

1. When did you get into Yaoi?
2. Who is your favorite Anime Yaoi Pairing? (real or just..hey it could happen)
3. Who is your favorite all time Slash Pairing? (not limited to just anime)
4. Have you ever written any slash/yaoi stories that you'd like anyone to read?
5. Do you have any pictures up on your deviant art account you'd like people to see?
6. What cons have you been too? How many times?
7. How do you get your yaoi fix?
8. What kind of websites to go view for that fix? (ie, got anything to pimp?)

Just remember to follow Lj's guidelines about what is proper to post and everything will be just awsome!

As for me your friendly Mod here are my answers!

1.I got into Yaoi back in 1999/2000. I was in another country going to school and during thier computer classes I would general serf the internet.  Sailor Moon's Malacite and Jedite (when I realized that both were men) were my first peek into the Yaoi lifestyle.

2. HHmmm I'm going to have to go with...Naruto Uzumakil and Sasuke Uchiha! I'm a big fan of Naruto (I have the leaf village symbol tatooed on the back of my neck.) There's something about angst and forbidden love that just gets me.

3.My favorite all time pairing is Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy! I love reading everything I can about those two boys. Because lets just face it, J.K. Rowling made it so easy for us! lol

4. Now while I have written a harry/draco slash story...it's never been typed up. Maybe for the upcoming future!

5.Art for yaoi! Why of course I have it..just..not...posted. ^__^; I fail at posting the yummies for you all don't I?

6. Well the main Con that I go to is Otakon, in Baltimore, MD. It's the east coast's largest con. I've been there...5 or 6 times now. The only other con that I've been too was Ohiyo con in Ohio. I was there once a few years back. Luckily there are 3, read them 3 different cons that are available in my general area that I will be trying to check out this year. (I'm in the Philadelphia are if anyone wants more information, I'll happily provide it)

7. Well I mainly will read alot of fanfiction sites, but I'll also buy the books from borders express or have them shipped from amazone. I like to read alot so that's my main fix. Occasionaly I'll watch something, but reading is something I enjoy a bit more.

8.hhmm well of course there's Yaoi Magazine! XD. And I like Fanfiction.net, Adultfanfiction.net and Skyehawke for my fandom fixes. I really enjoy the writting of Sapayne's website. She's writes some awsome original stories that I can't help but pay for. (She's got alot up for non-paying viewers also) I've downloaded an ebook from time to time also, but nothing too interesting.
